El Dorado Elementary School Sylmar, CA ‘Nutrition Mural’  12’x24’ mural on stucco, utilizing imagery created by 26 children on the subject of nutrition. Funded by a Los Angeles Unified School District Nutrition Grant.

Residents of NoHo Arts District N Hollywood, CA ‘Welcome to NoHo12’x50’ gateway mural on Concrete block, depicting the culture of the NoHo Arts District. Funded by a Los Angeles Neighborhood Matching Grant.

2002 October

Hollywood Walk of Fame Hollywood, CA ‘Night Gallery’ – As Project Coordinator and Lead Artist, Susan completed the painting of celebrity images on 40 security roll-up doors for the Hollywood Beautification Team.  Actual painting was completed in two months with a team of 5 additional artists working from 9pm to 4am. Funded by the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency.

Monlux Elementary School N Hollywood, CA ‘Through the Looking Glass’ 11’x60’ mural on stucco created with the assistance of 150 5th graders on the exterior library wall. Funded by a Los Angeles Neighborhood Matching Grant.

Chandler Outdoor Gallery N Hollywood, CA ‘Arte de Mexico’ 10’x260’ mural of a Mexican influenced street scene painted on a corrugated metal fence along the MTA railroad tracks.

Chandler Outdoor Gallery N Hollywood, CA ‘The Peach Harvesters’ 12’x60’ mural on stucco of historic North Hollywood and the influence of the peach canneries. Both Chandler Murals are funded by a Targeted Neighborhood Initiative Grant.

Ventura Music Festival ‘Musical Chairs’, Ventura, CA ‘The Height of Passion Remembered’ is Krieg’s chair painted in the theme of Russian Soul.

2006 October

South Lake TahoeCeleBEARtion’ Project, South Lake Tahoe, CA  The Tahoe Visitor’s Bureau Coordinated the painting of (50) 6’ high fiberglass bears. Collaged and painted with Female figures and local flora, Susan’s bear sold at auction held at Harvey’s Casino on10/13/06. Sponsored by Fire and Rain Gallery, South Lake Tahoe, CA.

2005 December

Oregon Coast Music Festival, Coos Bay, OR ‘Con Passione-  Selected by the Oregon Coast Music Association to create the image for the annual Festival Poster. The image was of a woman Playing a cello with the Oregon coastline in background.

2004 January

Judy Chicago’s ‘Envisioning the Future’ Project, Pomona, CA – Trained by Judy Chicago and Donald Woodman to facilitate 7 local painters in a project consisting of 8 venues and80 participants.  The yearlong project culminated in a public opening at Nichols Gallery, Pitzer College, Claremont, CA.

2002 April

SofahengeNorth Hollywood, CASusan Krieg and fellow artist, Barbara Freeman, recreated Stonehenge in an abandoned lot, using sofas found on the surrounding streets, to inform locals of bulky item pick-up, a free service provided by the city.

2001 June

NoHo Theatre and Arts Festival, N Hollywood, CA – Susan Krieg coordinated the painting of ‘A Mural in Two Days’, representing the future of NoHo utilizing the talents of 16 local artists from6 local art groups and 2 high schools. Susan also produced the showing of ‘Four Artists at the Historic Bank Buildingand designed and painted The Kids Kourt Theatre Proscenium’.

2001 January

Los Angles ‘Community of Angels’ Project, Los Angeles, CA – Susan was selected to design two of The 6’ fiberglass angels. Both sold at auction by Sotheby’s at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of 5/17/01. ‘Archetypes of the Feminine’  was sponsored by The Wilshire Grand Hotel. ‘He’s No Angel,  He’s a King’ was  sponsored by The Staples Center.
