This series of Assemblage Wall Sculptures came about over the summer of 2007. My good friends, Carole Segal in Montreal and Janet Hofacker in Idaho, and myself, agreed to do a project together. We each started with nine 4"x4" canvases. It was amazing to see how differently we each interpreted the 9 canvases. My canvases turned into a series of wall sculptures. Each one addresses an issue of concern to me, such as motherhood, physical aging, money etc. Over the past 30 years, I have been collecting the "stuff" that is incorporated into the sculpture. I knew there was a reason I collected such strange mementos. The nine sculptures are also the seven colors of the rainbow plus white and black (the existence of all color and no color). Each piece of stuff that went into the sculpture has symbolic meaning to me.
